Jersey City Man Gets 18 Years in Prison For Fatal Stabbing: Prosecutors

Steven Bardsley, a 57-year-old Jersey City resident, was sentenced to 18 years in state prison on Friday, June 9 for fatally stabbing a man in the neck in July 2021, authorities said.

On July 24, 2021, Jersey City Police responded to 151 Cambridge Ave. where they found Steven Bochman stabbed in the neck, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was soon pronounced dead, Suarez said.

Bardsley had pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated manslaughter back in March, Suarez said. He was originally charged with murder and two weapons offenses, Suarez said.
